RFM is the GOAT!
Thanks for the explanation. Glad to see that MSF isn’t sitting on their hands.
Ugh, I was already glad she was gone since I didn’t think she was a good addition to the team but I didn’t want to say anything negative on the YouTube channel. Now I’m just disgusted–why would someone act so dishonestly and hurtfully? I feel like the Dehlins have been through enough, you’d have to be particularly depraved to try to damage someone whose goal is to help heal. Gross, Jenn. Thanks for the info, RFM.
Jenn Kamp is such a minor character in intellect, emotion, talent, ability, and every other parameter I can think of. I can hardly wait until she’s just a fading image in the rear view mirror.
Wow! I’m sorry that John Dehlin, had to suffer from Jen Camp’s insecurity! It’s gross that her narcissism is at play here… I remember when she was on camera during MS, she seemed to always come across as anxious and unsure of what she was supposed to do. I do know as a as a photographer that the camera does not lie… That’s what I look for when dealing with film. Thanks for sharing this with us the public! I simply adore Mormon Stories, and it’s founder, Dr. John Dehlin! Thank you RFM for your being a wonderful attorney! Your podcast is amazing as well! Love your humor and your great insights and your intellect! Best always! Cindi Hunter, A subscribed member to both of you! ♥️😎
I said it before and I’ll say it again. Sounds like someone forgot who’s podcast it was.
I don’t get your point at all.
She was pathetic on so many levels. But John deserves what he got, his discernment was obviously lacking.
I don’t agree that John deserved this, but I do have to wonder what his thought process was in thinking Jenn would be a qualified co-host?!?? Waiting for John Larson or Cara Burrell to weigh in on this…we can count on them for unfettered opinions. 🙂
I’ve wondered that too. Jenn was awful as a cohost. I think the pool of potential cohosts is small. You need to be an ex-Mormon, with reasonably deep knowledge of Mormonism, willing to be known as an ex-Mormon in Utah, and you can’t have another job. At least not full time. Could be the candidate pool is small.
My thoughts exactly.
I’m gonna need more Apricot flavored butter.
I listened to two episodes with Jenn Kamp contributing and skipped the rest. Seems like she wasn’t done processing her emotions on leaving the church and dumped unnecessarily upon the audience. That and her seemingly lack of knowledge of many subjects became too much for me. Glad she’s gone, was hoping for forgotten but alas, not to be.
I’m shocked by everyone’s responses here, and am unsure whether anyone actually listened to the audio the whole way through. I found this audio disturbing and very damning for John and the board. I am a massive fan of johns work, but this is not ok in a work environment, listening to the audio what I heard was a board member obviously gaslighting her to top things off. As John himself read, he did passively aggressively call her skills into question because she asked for 24 hours notice. This not about “bringing John down” and as much as he has done for the community it doesn’t mean he isn’t held to the same standard as any other employer. As we all know he has been guilty of sexual harassment so there is history of an unsafe work environment. It’s nothing to do with her trying to be the star of the podcast, I do understand why people don’t like her being on it…but that is just part of her job. There’s a lot of hate being directed at her for just being someone who cries a lot. Which is insane, I would think as people aware of the way Mormonism belittles and subjegates women you would hear the hypocrisy in hating on her for being to emotional. She was raised not to stand up for herself, ofcourse she is crying.
Thank-you for this, Ashe. I completely agree with you. While I question the standing of Jenn’s lawsuit, I have found it disconcerting to read so many cruel and sometimes misogynistic comments, which I attribute to our Mormon acculturation. Not much balanced criticism here. Problems surrounding John’s judgment is not a one-off here.
How is it that a CEO of a many years run organization who is a life coach with a PhD in Psychology continues to make such poor management decisions including letting Jenn co-host such a prominent podcast with no prior experience? And John’s long history of interpersonal staffing conflicts and turnover makes me wonder what the board is doing to address these problems.
One thing that really struck a negative chord with me was John’s admission of texting while interviewing someone during a live broadcast. Seriously?
I have been a supporter of John’s for years but I have come to see him as someone whose ego is getting in his own way and have soured on him at this point.
I agree 100%.
Keep going John. This is sad and like stated counterproductive. I hope you guys can part ways with a hug and support each other in positive ways.
Sounds like this very troubled woman will have a lot to answer for in court. I’m sorry that John and the OSF board felt the need to indulge her demands for so long, just to be kind. (If anyone thinks John “deserved” what he got, then they probably think Salman Rushdie did also. Shame)
I’ve been a practicing trial attorney for 44 years. First, I want to acknowledge what a beautiful complaint was drafted for court. Kudos to the MSF attorneys. It reads like a story, suffices the pleading requirements for slander, and will work as a great outline for trial. No overreaching: it just alleges facts.
Second, this is a nightmare situation which might have been avoided if the board had held out for an experienced and qualified applicant. Jenn comes across as deeply troubled and self-centered and entitled. Scrupulous honesty seems not to have concerned her. Cause and effect elude her radar. A late claim of sexual impropriety is a distasteful cliche. Airing grievances publicly is never, ever wise or flattering. I’ve hired a lot of people over my lifetime, and I’ve learned to focus on the objective track record. Mission statements no longer impress me. Having said that, hindsight is always 20/20. I’m sorry John and the rest have to deal with this, but everything points to a successful outcome. Lessons learned.
Radio, you’re doing a fun, entertaining and valuable effort! Where’s that $50 you owe me, anyway?
“Mission statements no longer impress me.”
I got a chuckle out of that. My wife does workforce development, particularly for under served communities. Doling out grants and things like that. It is good work and a lot of people want to work for her. Her mantra is “I don’t want hippies, I want warriors.”
I don’t know how old Jenn is, but she sounds like an entitled Millennial who was simply asked to come into the office one day. COVID is behind us, and it’s 100% fair for employers to REQUIRE that employees come into the office. Her demand that she is given 24-hour notice is absurd, and it should be the other way around where she needed to give John a 24-hour notice if she needed to work from home on a certain day. Maybe she was just having a bad day on that specific day where she was asked to come into the office, but it still doesn’t give an employee the right to come barging in to the office ready to raise hell with their boss. I could be completely wrong, and don’t know the entire story, but my opinion is simply just based on the first 20 minutes of her phone call with the OSF Board. MORE MAVEN & LESS JENN 🙂
John Dehlin deserves a lot of praise for making Mormon Stories Podcast the therapeutic platform it has become for the exMormon community and for people still in the Mormon church that are beginning to see the light.
However, John was a total idiot for hiring Jenn in the first place, because she has always been visibly unstable.
And Jenn is just showing the world how to make oneself unemployable.
What a pathetic mess this has become!

I agree
We are definitely entering into a whole new space when it comes to employment. Hiring these days is a crapshoot at best . Jen was given a chance that’s all you can do as an employer when you make the commitment to provide a younger person the chance to grow and develop. Jenn needs better council she needs to realize that any time you bring accusations you open yourself up to the real truth, not just your own perception. This inclusive environment we have blundered into over the last decade has come with real responsibility’s on the part of women , minorities, the lgbqt community excetera . Every one wants fair treatment and voice , but what happens after you get it? Equality requires responsibility. This new group of wokesters will never see it that way because there is always someone else to blame there problems on
