I appreciated your treatment of the 2 different accounts as to how the Nephites learned about the Jaredites, a stone with engravings (Omni) vs. the 24 plates found by the people of Limhi (Mosiah 28).
I’ve always been puzzled by Omni v21 which says that Coriantumr lived with the people of Zarahemla for “ 9 moons.” Elsewhere in the Book of Mormon, the author uses the word “month” or “months.” Why “moons” in this instance? I can imagine an apologist making a case that the people of Zarahemla used a lunar calendar, and that the use of the word moons is due to that. I can imagine a critic saying that this is another seam in the Book of Mormon, as evidenced by the fact that all of the usages of the word “months” occur after the Book of Mosiah.
Isn’t it also possible that during the 10 fallow months Joseph was also desperately composing in his head the remainder of the Book of Mormon? He could have jotted down on hidden papers all the work he would strike off in 90 or so days of high powered “translating.”
