I think you’re expending too much energy on the abandonment of the phrase “free agency.” When I was at BYU in the late eighties, there was already a movement by some religion professors to stop using this phrase on the grounds that it isn’t scriptural and might convey the incorrect idea that choice can be uncoupled from consequences. I’m certainly no apologist. I’m a fan of the podcast because I’m as critical of the church as you are, but it’s hyperbolic of Bill to suggest that the non use of the phrase “free agency “ is some kind of theologically significant change. Your time would be better spent on other topics.
